Here are a few tips from The Natural Canine regarding vaccinations. This is a very controversial area and research is ongoing. I feel these guidelines are safe to follow for those who are concerned about possible vaccination reactions. Many holistic vets believe there is a correlation between vaccinations and chronic diseases. However not all dogs react the same way. This points out the individual nature of these animals we care for. Each dog is unique.
1. Avoid the polyvalent (5 in 1 type) vaccines. Each vaccine initiates a response in the immune system. Dogs would never encounter 5 diseases at one time. The route of entry for most diseases is through the nose or mouth. Vaccines are injected into the bloodstream and this presents a different challenge for the Immune System.
2. Never vaccinate a dog with a compromised immune system. Any dog that is sick, under stress, very old, recovering from illness or injury, or not 100% healthy should never be vaccinated. If you bring your dog to the vet with a bladder problem, don’t get a vaccination shot ‘just because you’re there’.
3. If you choose to vaccinate, ask your vet to administer single vaccines and space them out about 2-3 months apart. This will allow you to observe the animal for any reactions and deal with these symptoms right away.
4. Many vaccines are cultured in beef blood plasma and this is a major cause or contributing factor of food allergies. The proteins left in the culture are injected into the blood stream along with the vaccine and antigens are formed against beef protein. This causes allergies to beef and creates a hypersensitive state in your dog, making them overreactive to many proteins sources. We have worked with people whose dogs are allergic to protein. This is very sad.
5. It is possible for a vaccine to replace an acute illness with a chronic illness. Only one disease can be present at one time in your dog. Given the correct circumstances if you vaccinate a dog with cystitis you may end up with a diabetic dog. This is because the vaccine (a modified disease) will overtake (energetically) the lesser disease and establish a new disease process, often of a more chronic nature.
6. The use of homeopathic remedies such as Thuja, and Silicea has proven effective to counteract the negative effects of vaccinations. Remedies are usually administered for 3 or 4 days after the vaccine. Remedies do not ‘undo’ the vaccine - they only work on relieving the unwanted side-effects.
7. Many annual boosters are now considered unnecessary. Humans do not get annual vaccines. Consult with your vet about which vaccines are necessary for your dog.
8. Ask you vet about ‘titers’ - A "titer" is a measurement of how much antibody to a certain virus (or other antigen) is circulating in the blood at a given time. Titers are expressed in a ratio, which is how many times the technician can dilute the blood until they couldn't find antibodies. Let's say the technician could dilute it two times only and then they didn't find anymore, that would be a titer of 1:2. If they could dilute it a thousand times before they couldn't find any antibody, then that would be a titer of 1:1000.

What’s in those vaccines that make them harmful?? When you do some research you discover that vaccines contain some of the most poisonous compounds and elements known to man (and foreign organic material that is also toxic when injected into anything), i.e. formaldehyde, mercury and aluminum compounds, phenol (carbolic acid), borax (ant killer), methanol, dye, acetone (solvent, polish remover),disinfectant, glycerine, antifreeze, MSG and several other poisons, plus also toxic when injected, animal organ tissue and blood (e.g. monkey, cow, chicken, pig, sheep, dog, etc), contaminant animal viruses (e.g. SV40, which causes cancer in humans), aborted human foetus cells, large foreign proteins, mutated (more virulent) human viruses in high doses, bacterial endotoxins, antibiotics, bacteria, genetically modified yeast, latex, and animal, bacterial and viral DNA, which, when injected, can be incorporated into the recipient's DNA, then LOGIC dictates that you question whether violent poisons, which by definition are very harmful, are really going to be good for any living creature's immune system(?), let alone your tiny infant and baby animal with its very immature immune and neurological systems.
