Cats that lead a normal life seldom suffer from constipation. They have enough activity and eat what they find and need. Many cats that never venture outside end up with either acute or chronic constipation. Older cats suffer the most from constipation. You should take care to see that you cat defecates regularly, for once the large intestine is stopped up with feces it will seldom return to its original size. Diet is very important (Constipation Diet - included in the kit) and make sure you play with your cat every day and brush her firmly (from shoulders to rear); play and brushing will encourage defecation. Avoid commercial paste remedies as they contain sodium benzoate which is poisonous to cats.
